(Web Desk): FBISE HSSC 2026 results have been announced, with female students securing 11 of the 15 top positions.

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the annual results at a ceremony in Islamabad. Federal Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik attended the event.

A total of 106,508 students appeared in the HSSC-I examination, while 67,848 students passed. The overall pass percentage for first-year students stood at 65.31%.

For HSSC-II, 104,838 students registered for the examination and 87,364 successfully passed. The overall pass percentage for second-year students reached 85.95%.

Girls lead in several groups

Female students performed particularly well across the five major groups. They secured 11 of the 15 leading positions announced by the Federal Board.

In the Pre-Medical group, Ammara Azhar of Army Public School and Colleges Girls, Humayun Road, Rawalpindi, secured first position with 1,079 marks. Muhammad Jahanzaib of Punjab College of Science, Blue Area Islamabad, came second with 1,078 marks, while Syeda Iman Fatima of Army Public School and College, Gujranwala Cantonment, stood third with 1,076 marks.

Pre-Engineering and Commerce results

Girls secured all three top positions in the Pre-Engineering group. Rameen Arjmand topped the group with 1,075 marks, followed by Zainab Samee with 1,070 marks and Ansa Fatima with 1,068 marks.

Female students also took all three leading positions in Commerce. Aqsa Farooq stood first with 1,051 marks, Aayeza Afzal came second with 1,047 marks and Amna Asif secured third position with 1,046 marks.

Science and Humanities groups

In General Science, Abdullah Azhar secured first position with 1,063 marks. Hayan Azhar came second with 1,059 marks, while Hadia Zakria secured third position with 1,056 marks.

In Humanities, Emaan Fatima topped the group with 1,007 marks. Aamna Azhar came second with 1,003 marks, while Raja Yahya Bin Fazil and Umair Raza shared third position with 1,002 marks each.

Minister congratulates successful students

Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui congratulated the students who achieved top positions. He wished them success in their future education and professional careers.

The minister praised the strong performance of female students and said their success was a positive sign for Pakistan. He also stressed the need to improve education standards and modernise the education system so Pakistani students can compete internationally.

Education ministry officials, board representatives, teachers, parents and students attended the results ceremony. The strong female performance was one of the main highlights of this year’s FBISE results.

The results show a clear improvement in the performance of female students across several major groups. Their success in Pre-Engineering and Commerce is especially notable because girls captured all three top positions in both groups.

The high HSSC-II pass rate also shows that most second-year students successfully completed their examinations. At the same time, the lower HSSC-I pass rate highlights the need for stronger academic support for first-year students.
