BISE postpones Jhelum exams due to Maryam Nawaz’s visit, check new dates
The exams will now be held on November 30, 2026.
Why were the exams postponed?
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi postponed the Computer Science papers of the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations 2026, which were scheduled for November 10.
The decision was taken on the recommendation of the Jhelum deputy commissioner. Maryam Nawaz is expected to visit Jhelum and Pind Dadan Khan on the same day.
The district administration has been making extensive arrangements for the chief minister’s visit. These include administrative duties, security measures and protocol arrangements.
Deputy commissioner requests a change
In a letter to the BISE Rawalpindi chairman, the deputy commissioner requested that the Computer Science papers in Jhelum district be postponed.
The letter explained that a large number of administrative and security officials would be assigned to the chief minister’s visit. As a result, it would be difficult to ensure that examinations were conducted smoothly without interruption.
The deputy commissioner also requested a new date to avoid problems for students and ensure proper arrangements for both the examinations and the visit.
New examination date announced
Following the request, BISE Rawalpindi rescheduled the Computer Science papers for both morning and evening groups. Board spokesperson Arslan Cheema said Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed had issued an official notification about the change.
The postponed papers will now take place on Monday, November 30, 2026, at the examination centres already assigned in Jhelum district. The morning group will appear in the morning session, while the evening group will take its paper in the evening session.
What students need to know
The change applies only to Computer Science papers in Jhelum district. Students appearing at examination centres in other districts under BISE Rawalpindi will take their papers on November 10 as originally planned.
Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed said new roll number slips would be issued to students for their convenience. However, students can also use their previously issued roll number slips to appear in the examination.
The decision was taken because of the security and administrative arrangements required for the chief minister’s visit. Students in Jhelum should check the revised date and keep their roll number slips safe to avoid confusion.
