Suspected dacoit killed, three held in Karachi police shootout

KARACHI: (Web Desk) Law enforcement officials killed a fugitive dacoit, wounded two others, besides arresting three suspects in a series of police operations across Karachi.

A variety of stolen items, including weapons, cash, mobile phones, and other valuables, were recovered. Investigations are currently ongoing, according to a spokesperson for Karachi Police.

The first incident occurred late at night when Sukkan Police engaged in an encounter on Bhains Colony’s 12 Number Road. During the exchange of fire, one suspect, 27-year-old Mashooq alias Badshah, was apprehended with gunshot wounds and was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police recovered a pistol, ammunition, a motorcycle, cash, and mobile phones from the scene.

In a separate operation, Shah Latif Police raided an area near the Landhi Manzil Pump in Kohi Goth, leading to a shootout and the arrest of two individuals. One of them, 19-year-old Zakir Ali, was injured during the confrontation, while his accomplice, Amir, was arrested without injury. A pistol, two stolen mobile phones, and PKR 20,000 in cash were seized.

In a third incident, Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Police intercepted two suspects near North Karachi’s Sector 1A-4 in the early hours of Thursday. One of the suspects, 35-year-old Farhan, was apprehended after being injured, while his accomplice managed to flee. A pistol, ammunition, two mobile phones, and cash were recovered.

Authorities continue to search for other suspects involved in these incidents.
