Station House Officer (SHO) Abdul Majeed said he got the information about the incident through social media.

Police arrested the accused identified as Machhar Rajpar who confessed to the crime.

He told the police that he already had two children, adding the girl was his third child who was sick and had been suffering from anemia since birth.

He said he decided to bury the girl alive due to the lack of money for treatment.

He also identified to police the grave where he buried the girl. According to the SHO, the incident took place 25 days ago.

The body of the girl will be exhumed on the court orders. The incident sent a wave of shock and anger in the area, and people are expressing grief over the heartbreaking incident.

Police have assured that action will be taken as per the law and justice will be served.
