According to Gujrat police, the deceased were on their way in a Suzuki Carry van to appear in a court when the accused fired shots at them, killing them on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Malik Attaur Rehman, his brother Malik Irfan and son Sufyan, and a relative of them named Shahzad. The accused managed to escape from the scene after the crime.

Police said old enmity seemed to be the reason behind the incident.
