Pakistani star Resham reveals her first salary was Rs300

LAHORE: (SUNO DIGITAL) In an exclusive interview with Suno Digital’s ‘Showtime with Ramiz Raja’, veteran Pakistani film and television actress Resham revealed her first job and salary.

 A background actor or extra is a performer in a film, television show, stage, musical, opera, or ballet production who appears in a nonspeaking or non-singing (silent) capacity, usually in the background (for example, in an audience or busy street scene).

Co-host Hina Niazi asked Resham about her extras at the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV). The beautiful actress replied that she got her first acing job following guidance provided by some PTV artists at a school function.

She further said that after a little insistence, an artist gave her PTV contact number. “I went there with my brother on a motorcycle and waited by the door for a while as it was difficult to get inside the premises, only renowned artists could get inside,” she added.

About her debut, she revealed that she was given one-dialogue role with legend actor Qavi Khan for which she received Rs300 as payment.

In the end she credited PTV for her flourishing career and said that “If I am getting work today it is due to PTV’s strong foundation which has taught me punctuality.”

The show ended with Star Shah singing his famous song 2AM from Coke Studio.

It is pertinent to mention that Resham has joined the cast of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s upcoming film Kaaf Kangana. She will be seen essaying a significant role in the film. She has been given a beautiful role in the movie which is up to her caliber. “She is a brilliant performer and even today she looks like a heroine. We will begin shooting with her in Bahawalpur from November 20 and my movie will surely benefit from her presence in it”, writer-director Khalilur Rehman said in a recent interview.
