Misbah Arshad crowned fourth Miss Universe Pakistan for 2026
Misbah Arshad has been crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2026, marking the latest chapter in Pakistan’s growing presence at the international beauty pageant.
Arshad received the title at a ceremony in the Philippines. Miss Universe Pakistan franchise owner Josh Yugen presented her with the sash, while outgoing titleholder Roma Riaz placed the crown on her head.
The new Miss Universe Pakistan impressed the judges during the final question round. Her thoughtful answer about childhood, failure and personal growth became one of the key moments of the competition.
Misbah Arshad wins judges over with powerful answer
Philippine musician and actor Bailey May asked Arshad which version of herself would ask the more difficult question if her 10-year-old and 80-year-old selves were placed together.
Arshad chose her younger self. She explained that the 10-year-old version of her would want to know how her life eventually turned out.
She said she would tell her younger self that she had failed several times but continued to rise after every setback.
“I would tell her that it’s a beautiful cycle of life and that we shouldn’t just embrace it, but truly enjoy it,” Arshad said.
She then added, “Because the hotter the fire, the purer the gold.”
Her response focused on resilience and the idea that difficult experiences can help people grow stronger.
The answer also reflected the message Arshad has continued to share after winning the crown. She has described failure as part of the journey rather than something that decides whether a person succeeds.
Arshad brings international pageant experience
The new Miss Universe Pakistan is a psychology student and already has experience competing internationally.
Arshad represented Pakistan at Miss International 2023 in Japan. She later competed at Miss Supranational 2024 in Poland.
Her previous experience could prove useful as she prepares for another major international competition. She will now travel to Puerto Rico to represent Pakistan at the 75th edition of Miss Universe.
Following her victory, Arshad said success should not be measured only by winning a crown.
“Failure doesn’t define whether you are a winner or not. What does is keeping hope alive, continuing to put effort and becoming better with every step,” she said.
She also said winning the title was important, but the journey itself was the “true prize”.
According to Arshad, the experiences she gained and the people she met along the way were equally valuable.
Meaning behind Miss Universe Pakistan gown
Arshad also used her coronation outfit to communicate a personal message.
She appeared in a white gown with a crystal-covered bodice designed by Vietnamese designer Nguyễn Tiến Truyển.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Pakistan explained that the white colour represented hope. She said it was also a reminder to continue believing in dreams even when the journey becomes difficult.
The royal blue crystals carried another meaning. Arshad said they represented education and knowledge gained through continuous learning.
The symbolism allowed her to connect her appearance at the ceremony with ideas of hope, education and personal development.
Her choice also reflected her background as a psychology student and her emphasis on learning from personal experiences.

Pakistan’s Miss Universe journey continues
Pakistan’s participation in Miss Universe has gained greater attention since the national franchise was launched in 2023.
Erica Robin became the country’s first representative under the franchise. She made history by reaching the Top 20 at the Miss Universe competition in El Salvador.
Robin’s participation attracted international attention during the swimsuit preliminary round when she appeared in a pink metallic burkini.
Noor Xarmina represented Pakistan at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico. Roma Riaz then became Pakistan’s representative at the 2025 competition.
Riaz has since moved into a leadership role within the franchise. She became the national director of Miss Universe Pakistan and is now involved in preparing and mentoring future Pakistani representatives.
