Roma Riaz named national director of Miss Universe Pakistan
Roma Riaz, who represented Pakistan at the Miss Universe 2025 competition, has taken on a new and important role within the Miss Universe Pakistan organisation.
She announced that she is now the national director of Miss Universe Pakistan in an Instagram post. Riaz said she was “incredibly humbled, grateful and honoured” by the opportunity.
The new position will allow Riaz to remain closely involved with the pageant and help prepare future Pakistani contestants for the international stage.
She described the role as more than just a new professional opportunity. Riaz said helping shape the journey of women who will represent Pakistan globally is a responsibility she will not take lightly.
Roma Riaz takes on a bigger role
Riaz also thanked Miss Universe franchise owner Josh Yugen for “believing in me, trusting me and allowing me to continue being part of something I care so deeply about”.
Her message showed that she sees the new position as a continuation of her connection with the Miss Universe organisation rather than a completely separate chapter.
Riaz said she was very excited about what lies ahead. She also shared an optimistic message about the future, writing, “Here’s to a new chapter, bigger dreams, louder voices and taking Pakistan to the universe”.
Her appointment comes as the Miss Universe Pakistan franchise prepares for another international appearance.
The announcement was made in the Philippines, where the latest Miss Universe Pakistan titleholder was also crowned.
Misbah Arshad to represent Pakistan
Misbah Arshad has been crowned the new Miss Universe Pakistan and will become the fourth Pakistani woman to compete on the Miss Universe stage.
She is expected to travel to Puerto Rico later this year to represent Pakistan at the 75th Miss Universe pageant.
Her participation marks another step in Pakistan’s growing presence in the international beauty pageant. The upcoming competition will allow Arshad to present Pakistan before a global audience.
Riaz’s new position could also place her at the centre of preparations for future contestants. As national director, she is expected to have an important role in supporting women who seek to represent Pakistan through the Miss Universe platform.
Her own experience as Pakistan’s Miss Universe 2025 representative could provide useful insight as she begins this new responsibility.

Why Riaz’s appointment matters
Riaz has spoken strongly about the importance of representing Pakistan internationally. She previously described the opportunity as “the biggest honour and responsibility of my life”.
Her latest appointment adds another dimension to that responsibility. Instead of representing Pakistan as a contestant, she will now be involved in helping select, prepare and support women who could carry the country’s name onto the global stage.
The role also allows Riaz to influence how future Pakistani contestants approach the international competition.
For the Miss Universe Pakistan franchise, having a former titleholder take a leadership position could bring first-hand experience to the organisation. Riaz understands what it means to compete internationally and face the expectations that come with representing Pakistan.
At the same time, her appointment comes at an important moment for the franchise, with Misbah Arshad preparing for the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico.
A new chapter for Miss Universe Pakistan
Riaz’s announcement suggests that her journey with Miss Universe Pakistan is far from over. Her focus has now shifted from competing herself to helping other women prepare for the same global platform.
Her message also points towards bigger ambitions for the organisation. By talking about “bigger dreams” and “louder voices”, Riaz highlighted her intention to support contestants beyond simply appearing on a pageant stage.
The Miss Universe platform provides contestants with an international audience, making preparation, confidence and communication important parts of the experience.
Riaz’s new position could therefore become significant for future Pakistani representatives as the country continues its participation in the competition.
For now, attention will remain on Misbah Arshad, who is set to represent Pakistan at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico.
Riaz, meanwhile, begins her new chapter as national director with a clear message of gratitude and ambition. Her appointment keeps a former Pakistani representative directly involved in the organisation while a new contestant prepares to make her mark internationally.
