LAHORE: (Web Desk) Pakistan’s famous playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar announced taking actress Mahira Khan as a heroine in his upcoming film, taking a U-turn from his earlier statement of never working with her again.

In a podcast, the famous writer said none other than actress Mahira Khan will play the role of a heroine in his upcoming new film "Mirza Jat".

He said Humayun Saeed will be cast as a hero while senior actor Sohail Ahmed will also be part of the cast.

He said he still stands by his demand for an apology from Mahira Khan, but it’s a matter of work.

It is to be noted here that after being criticised by Mahira Khan, Khalilur Rehman Qamar gave very harsh statements about her in various interviews and demanded an apology from her.

He stated he will never work with Mahira Khan unless she apologises to him. Apart from this, he also termed collaborating with Mahira Khan the biggest mistake of his life.

Earlier in an interview, Khalilur Rehman Qamar said he is not angry with Mahira Khan, but he hates what she did.

“Resentment ends, not hatred,” he said. “Mahira Khan needs to apologise to end this hatred,” he added.

The playwright further said if he respected anyone after actress Ayeza Khan, it was Mahira Khan. “If there was any problem, Mahira could have called me and asked for an explanation, but she didn’t,” he added.

Khalilur Rehman Qamar also expressed his displeasure with actress Mehwish Hayat and said he made many efforts to cast her in his film “Punjab Nahi Jaon Gi”.

He said she refused to work in my film “Kaaf Kangana”. “If one does not respect the writer, I will not respect one either,” he stated.
