NCCIA clears couple
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency submitted its report before a sessions court in Lahore.
The investigation officer told the court that there was no need to arrest Saqib Chadhar or his wife, Sumaira, at this stage.
The NCCIA had changed its investigation team and formed a joint investigation team to conduct a fresh probe.
Following the fresh investigation, the agency declared the couple innocent of the allegations.
The development has become a major turning point in the Momina Iqbal harassment case.
Bail pleas withdrawn
After the investigation officer presented the report, Saqib Chadhar withdrew his interim bail petition.
The court then disposed of the bail applications of the MPA and his wife after they were withdrawn.
The Saqib Chadhar harassment allegations were initially made by actress Momina Iqbal, who accused the lawmaker of harassment and death threats.

Actress challenges investigation
Momina Iqbal appeared in court with her lawyer, Adnan Ehsan.
Her lawyer objected to the NCCIA report and questioned the way the fresh investigation was conducted.
He claimed that the investigation team was changed without taking the complainant into confidence.
The lawyer also alleged that the new investigation officer cleared the suspects without completing the inquiry.
He asked the court to examine both the investigation process and the decision to clear the accused.
These objections have kept the Momina Iqbal harassment case under further legal scrutiny.
Wife also cleared in fresh probe
The original case was registered after a complaint from Momina Iqbal.
The actress had levelled Saqib Chadhar harassment allegations over alleged harassment and death threats.
His wife, Sumaira, was also named in the allegations.
The latest probe, however, concluded that the couple was innocent.
The Saqib Chadhar wife was therefore cleared along with the MPA in the fresh investigation.
What happens next?
Momina Iqbal’s lawyer has asked the court to review the investigation and determine whether all required procedures were followed.
The court may examine the reasons behind the change in the investigation team and the evidence used to clear the suspects.
