(Web Desk): Pakistan’s digital sector expands rapidly as freelancers earn $557 million and startup valuation crosses $4 billion amid growing global investor confidence.

Pakistan’s digital economy has witnessed significant growth with strong support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), boosting investor confidence and strengthening the technology sector.

According to official data, Pakistani freelancers earned $557 million in foreign exchange during the first half of fiscal year 2026. The figure marks a 58 percent increase compared to the same period last year, reflecting rapid expansion in the country’s freelance and digital services industry.

Experts say the growth highlights Pakistan’s rising position as a global hub for software development, digital marketing, graphic design, e-commerce, and IT-based services. Improved training opportunities, digital infrastructure, and government facilitation have enabled young professionals to access international clients and earn in foreign currency.

Officials also revealed that more than 170 venture capital-backed startups are currently operating in the country, with a combined enterprise value exceeding $4 billion. These startups are attracting domestic and international investors, further strengthening Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem.
