The Government of Punjab has launched free skill development courses for students who failed in matriculation or appeared in supplementary exams, aiming to turn academic setbacks into career opportunities.
The initiative has been introduced under the Punjab Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Department, which has started a dedicated training program for students from the 2024/25 matric and intermediate exams. Authorities said the move is designed to equip young people with practical skills and reduce unemployment among unsuccessful candidates.
Officials confirmed that a formal notification has been sent to all educational boards across Punjab, including Lahore and other regions, informing them about the registration process. Students who could not pass their exams or who need to clear supplementary papers can now register online for free vocational training.
The program offers various market-oriented courses to help youth develop technical and entrepreneurial skills. Government representatives stated that the initiative aims to provide alternative pathways for students so they can become financially independent instead of facing job market challenges after academic failure.
