(Web Desk): Petrol price cut announced as the government reduces petrol and diesel rates for the next week. The new prices will take effect from midnight.

The government has announced a reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel. The decision comes as part of the latest weekly fuel price review.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Petroleum, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs4 per litre. This reduction will remain in effect for the next one week.

The notification also stated that the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs2 per litre. The move is expected to provide some relief to consumers and transporters.

Following the latest cut, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs373.78 per litre. The new price of diesel has been fixed at Rs378.78 per litre.

Officials said the revised fuel prices will become effective from 12 midnight. The rates will remain applicable for the upcoming week unless revised again.

The reduction comes at a time when fuel prices remain a key concern for households and businesses. Even a small decrease can help ease transportation and daily living costs.
