ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Saudi Arabia’s popular fast-food giant, AlBaik, is set to open its outlets in Pakistan.

AlBaik’s owner Rami Abu Ghazala met with Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan in Jeddah, where the duo discussed the operational plans and potential locations for AlBaik’s outlets in major Pakistani cities.

Currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, the commerce minister also met with key Saudi businessmen to explore ways to strengthen trade relations. He highlighted Pakistan’s improving business climate, driven by initiatives like the Single Window system and the National Compliance Center.

Saudi exports to Pakistan had risen by 22 per cent, pushing the total trade volume to $700 million Jam Kamal Khan noted. Additionally, remittances from Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia totaled $7.4 billion, reinforcing the strong financial ties between the two nations.

Saudi investors have shown a strong interest in Pakistan’s energy, agriculture, IT, and construction sectors, with both sides agreeing to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

The recent Saudi visa policy, which allows GCC citizens visa-free entry for up to 90 days, is expected to further boost economic exchanges.
