A new hybrid SUV, the Jaecoo J8 PHEV, may soon enter Pakistan, as it has recently been seen in the country. The vehicle is expected to be introduced by NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of Nishat Group. However, no official confirmation has been issued yet.

The Jaecoo brand works under China’s Chery Group. The J8 PHEV shares its platform and hybrid system with the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, as both are built on the same T1X platform and use similar technology.

Globally, the Jaecoo J8 first appeared in markets like Australia and Malaysia in 2025 with a petrol turbo engine. Now, the plug-in hybrid version is being introduced in several countries, including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and parts of Europe, showing strong international demand.

In terms of size and design, the SUV is a large seven-seater with a 2+3+2 seating layout. It offers a spacious body with a length of around 4,820 mm, making it suitable for families looking for comfort and space.

The most attractive part is its hybrid powertrain. The vehicle comes with a 1.5 litre turbo plug-in hybrid system combined with multiple motors. It produces about 530 horsepower and 650 Nm torque, along with an all-wheel-drive system, making it both powerful and efficient.

If launched in Pakistan, the Jaecoo J8 PHEV is expected to compete in the premium hybrid SUV market. Its closest rival could be the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, which is priced around Rs13,700,000, giving a strong idea of where this new SUV may stand.

This SUV can attract buyers looking for luxury and fuel savings. Hybrid option is a big plus. Price may be high, but features look strong. If launched soon, it can create tough competition.
