Traders observe countrywide strike against govt’s ‘unfair’ policies

LAHORE: (Web Desk) Traders across the country are observing a nationwide strike against the government’s ‘unfair’ economic policies.
According to details, traders are observing strike particularly against the high electricity bills, oppressive taxes, the controversial “Trader-Friendly Scheme”, and IMF policies.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have supported the strike by traders.
Similarly, trade associations including the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) have also supported the strike.
The business activities have come to a standstill in major markets in the country due to traders’ strike, with shops closed and streets empty.
