(Web Desk): Government proposes Rs838 billion BISP budget increase to support low-income families amid inflation to provide stronger help to households.

The federal government has proposed a major increase in the Benazir Income Support Programme budget. Under the new financial plan, Rs838 billion may be allocated for poor and deserving families.

This amount is about 17 percent higher than the previous financial year. Officials say the rise is meant to deal with inflation and rising living costs.

The finance minister said the government wants to strengthen social protection systems. He added that more funds will help reduce pressure on low-income groups facing economic stress.

According to official documents, the increased funds will not only support existing beneficiaries. It will also allow expansion of the programme to cover more eligible families across the country.

Economic experts believe this step is important in current conditions. They say inflation has reduced purchasing power, and such support can bring real relief to millions.

The government expects the move to reduce poverty levels over time. It also hopes the expanded programme will improve living standards for vulnerable communities.

The government is increasing support to protect poor families from rising prices. This move may help reduce financial pressure if the funds are delivered properly. The real impact will depend on how fairly and efficiently the programme is managed.
