Saudi Arabia has officially extended the grace period for holders of expired visit visas, giving them one final chance to leave the country legally without facing fines or penalties. According to the Kingdom’s General Directorate of Passports, this extended grace period will last for 30 days starting from July 26, 2025.
This decision was first introduced last month in line with the beginning of the Hijri New Year, aiming to make it easier for overstaying visitors to exit the country without legal trouble. Authorities confirmed that all types of expired visit visas are covered under this extension.

To benefit from this offer, individuals must settle any outstanding dues or penalties according to current rules. They can apply for final departure using the Tawasul service available on the Ministry of Interior’s Absher online platform. The process is digital and quick, designed to make it easier for people to comply without visiting offices in person.
Officials have encouraged all eligible visitors to take advantage of this opportunity before the deadline. Failing to do so could result in legal action, fines, or travel bans.
This move is seen as a humanitarian step, offering relief to families and workers stuck due to expired visas and giving them a dignified exit.
