A rare Israeli missile attack on Qatari territory, on Tuesday, killed five Hamas members and a Qatari security official, Doha authorities confirmed. Hamas stated that its negotiators were inside when the attack took place.
Israeli media quoted that 15 fighter jets conducted the attack, firing 10 missiles in seconds on residential apartments in Doha s Katara area. Hamas admitted five deaths, including Humam al-Hayya, the son of top leader Khalil al-Hayya, but asserted the attempted assassination of its negotiating team had been unsuccessful.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified the strike as "completely justified," asserting it aimed at Hamas leaders responsible for the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
