
The presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan have jointly announced their support to nominate former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. They praised Trump for his instrumental role in mediating a historic peace agreement that aims to end years of hostility and foster cooperation between the two countries.
Trump’s efforts led to the signing of a comprehensive peace deal, which included the creation of a new transport corridor known as the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.” This corridor promises to enhance trade and connectivity while marking a significant step toward regional stability.

His mediation also lifted long-standing restrictions on defense cooperation with Azerbaijan and initiated new economic agreements involving energy, technology, and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the historic peace agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia facilitated by Donald J. Trump.
In a heartfelt message on social media, he described the agreement as a significant milestone that ushers in a new era of peace, stability, and cooperation for the South Caucasus a region that has long suffered from conflict and hardship.
“We congratulate President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on this historic agreement, that reflects wisdom, foresight and sagacity in charting a course for a peaceful future for their region. Pakistan has always stood by the brotherly nation of Azerbaijan and we stand with them at this proud moment of their history,”
He also acknowledged the important role played by the United States under President Trump’s leadership in bringing both sides together, paving the way for enhanced trade, connectivity, and regional unity.
Ending on a hopeful note, PM Shehbaz said, “It is our hope that this spirit of dialogue will serve as an example for other regions facing protracted conflicts.”
