(Web Desk): The Workers Welfare Board Sindh has revealed an inclusive expansion of its electric bike initiative—now extending beyond working women to industrial laborers from minority communities.

In a statement, Secretary Rafiq Qureshi detailed this far-reaching plan: The e-bike program now includes not just women but also minority industrial workers, promoting eco-friendly, independent commuting. A Rs3 billion investment will be made in SECP-certified, Shariah-compliant Sukuk bonds to finance these welfare enhancements.

An accidental health insurance scheme was also introduced by the board that offers coverage up to Rs700,000 annually, redeemable at 270 hospitals nationwide. For workers, fully solar-powered homes will be constructed instead of traditional housing, and the board s schools across Sindh will be fully solarized.

Two uniforms will be received by students registered under the board’s schools annually. This move enhances educational support. Across all departments, there will be a digitization drive which will ensure fair and transparent service delivery.

Death compensation has been raised from Rs700,000 to Rs1 million, and marriage grants from Rs300,000 to Rs500,000 under Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah’s directives.

This holistic initiative marks a pivotal shift toward dignity, equality, and sustainable welfare for Sindh’s industrial workforce—setting a powerful benchmark for inclusive development nationwide.
