Parts of major roads in Westchester County and New York, such as the northbound section of the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Cross Bronx Expressway, were closed temporarily because of a tree falling and flooding.

Westchester County local officials were in the process of actively conducting rescue efforts in order to aid people who were stranded inside cars that were submerged by floodwater, county executive spokesperson Carolyn Fortino explained.
New Jersey issued a state of emergency due to the heavy rain and rising floodwaters, which called for immediate response measures. Weather mayhem also impacted air transportation, with dozens of flights being delayed at New York s and New Jersey s major airports.
Meanwhile, in Texas, the situation has taken a tragic turn. Flash floods have caused widespread destruction, and as of now, at least 170 people are reported missing. Rescue operations are underway as emergency services search for those affected by the disaster.
Authorities are urging residents to remain indoors, avoid flooded areas, and follow emergency instructions as more rain is forecast in the coming days.
