Iran has reopened key Tehran airports after recent tensions with the United States and Israel forced a temporary shutdown, allowing flight operations to resume gradually.
Authorities confirmed that Imam Khomeini International Airport and Mehrabad Airport are now operational again. Both airports were closed due to heightened security risks amid regional instability, disrupting travel plans for thousands of passengers.
The Civil Aviation Authority said a phased reopening strategy is being implemented to ensure safety while restoring normal air traffic. Several airports across the country are also being reactivated in stages, including those in Yazd, Rasht, Shiraz, Abadan, Kermanshah, Urmia and Gorgan.
Officials emphasized that restoring domestic and international connectivity is a priority, but operations will continue under strict security monitoring. Airlines have begun scheduling limited flights, while passengers are advised to check updates before traveling.

The temporary closure had impacted trade, tourism, and business travel, making the reopening a significant step toward economic recovery. Experts believe that full restoration of flight operations will depend on the evolving regional security situation.
Passengers and airlines are expected to benefit from improved connectivity in the coming days as operations expand further across the country.
