Saudi Civil Defense warns six regions, urges residents to stay safe
Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has issued an early warning for Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Yanbu, Taif, Abha and the Jazan region.
The warning was issued through the National Early Warning Platform as authorities urged citizens and residents to remain alert.
Civil Defense asked people to stay calm and immediately move to a safe place inside a building if an emergency develops.
Residents were advised to choose an interior room away from windows and remain indoors until authorities confirm that the danger has passed.
Residents urged to avoid dangerous areas
Civil Defense warned people against going outside during the alert unless necessary.
Residents were specifically advised to stay away from open areas, windows, glass structures, balconies and rooftops.
People who are already outdoors when the warning is received should enter the nearest building or find shelter behind a solid barrier.
Authorities also asked residents not to gather near potentially dangerous locations.
The public was further advised against taking photographs or approaching hazardous areas during or after an emergency.
Officials stressed the importance of following instructions issued by the authorities instead of attempting to investigate dangerous locations themselves.
Drivers given separate safety instructions
People travelling by road were also given specific instructions during the warning.
Drivers who receive the alert while on the road were advised to pull over safely.
Authorities recommended stopping away from bridges and tall buildings to reduce potential risks.
Drivers were also urged to remain cautious and follow official instructions until the warning is lifted.
The guidance is intended to help people avoid exposed areas and possible hazards during an emergency.

The emergency number for other regions of Saudi Arabia is 998.
Authorities urged residents to use emergency services when immediate assistance is required.
The public should also rely on official announcements for updates about the warning and any changes to safety instructions.
