MOSCOW (Web Desk): Russia has offered to help reduce Iran-US tensions, with President Vladimir Putin backing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.

Russia offers mediation

The latest Russia Iran mediation offer comes as tensions between Tehran and Washington remain high.

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered Moscow’s support for efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the United States.

The Russia Iran mediation proposal was discussed during a phone conversation between Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The two leaders discussed regional developments, bilateral relations and the ongoing Iran US conflict.

Putin backs diplomatic efforts

Putin said Russia wants the dispute to be addressed through diplomacy rather than continued confrontation.

The Putin Iran US discussions also covered efforts by countries trying to reduce tensions in the region.

Putin told the Iranian leadership that Moscow was ready to play a role and provide the necessary support for a diplomatic solution.

The Russia Iran mediation effort could give Tehran another channel for communication as the Iran US conflict continues.

Russia and Iran maintain close ties

During the phone call, Putin also said Russia would continue cooperation with Iran under the countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty.

The relationship between Moscow and Tehran has become an important part of the regional situation.

The Putin Iran US contact also comes as both countries face growing international attention over the wider conflict.

Russia has repeatedly supported diplomatic efforts to address regional disputes.

The latest Russia Iran mediation offer shows that Moscow is prepared to become more involved in efforts to reduce tensions.

Pezeshkian says Iran will continue resistance

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran was facing what he described as a full-scale conflict from different directions.

He said Tehran would continue its resistance while also keeping the door open for negotiations.

Pezeshkian also called for greater reliance on Iran’s domestic capabilities and stronger cooperation among the Iranian people.

His comments came as the Iran US conflict remained a major concern for the region.

The Iranian president said his country would continue defending its position while pursuing possible diplomatic options.

What happens next?

The latest Russia Iran mediation effort comes at a sensitive time for the region.

Moscow’s involvement could provide another diplomatic channel if both Tehran and Washington are willing to discuss a possible settlement.

The Putin Iran US contact does not mean that a new agreement has already been reached.

It instead shows that Russia is prepared to support negotiations as the Iran US conflict continues.

Any progress will depend on whether the two sides are willing to use diplomatic channels and make practical steps towards reducing tensions.
