HEC jobs for nine posts bring salaries up to Rs398,130 – check eligibility
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced nine contract vacancies under development projects funded through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). Monthly salaries start from Rs40,700 and go up to Rs398,130, depending on the post.
The available positions include Project Director, Law Officer, Project Manager, Project Accountant, Office Assistant and Attendant. Interested candidates can apply online through the HEC careers portal until 14 October 2026.
Project Director and Law Officer Positions
The Project Director post is linked to the project for awarding 3,000 Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships to Afghan students under the Prime Minister’s directive. Candidates need a master’s degree or equivalent qualification based on 16 years of education, with at least a second division from an HEC-recognized university or institution.
Applicants must also have seven years of experience in a reputable public or private organization. At least five years of this experience must be in a managerial position after obtaining the final degree.
The Law Officer position is part of the Overseas Scholarship for PhD in Selected Fields project, Phase III. Candidates must have an LLB or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institution and five years of experience as a practicing lawyer in services or corporate law.
Strong spoken and written communication skills are also required for the post. Applicants should also be able to use Microsoft Office effectively.
Project Manager and Accountant Vacancies
HEC has announced a Project Manager position under the PhD Scholarship Program through the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor, Phase I. Applicants must have a master’s or bachelor’s degree involving 16 years of education, or an equivalent qualification, with at least a second division.
Candidates need at least five years of experience in a reputable public or private organization. This must include three years of managerial or supervisory experience after the final degree, while Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project skills are compulsory.
Two more Project Manager positions have been announced under the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, Phase III. Candidates must have a master’s or bachelor’s degree involving 16 years of education and at least five years of relevant professional experience.
Applicants must have at least two years of middle-management experience after completing their final degree. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project is also required.
The Project Accountant will work under the Faculty Development Program for Pakistani Universities. Applicants need an MBA in Finance, MCom or CMA involving 16 years of education, along with at least three years of experience.
At least one year of the required experience must be at middle-management level after the final degree. The qualification must be from an HEC-recognized institution and carry at least a second division.
Office Assistant and Attendant Jobs
HEC has announced two Office Assistant positions under the Faculty Development Program for Pakistani Universities and the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program, Phase I. Candidates need a graduation qualification involving 14 years of education, with at least a second division from an HEC-recognized institution.
Applicants must also have two years of work experience in a reputable public or private organization. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is required for these positions.
The Attendant position is linked to the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program, Phase I. Candidates must have passed Matric and have at least one year of relevant experience.
Age, Selection Process and Application Procedure
The maximum age limits mentioned in the advertisement already include five years of general age relaxation. Any additional relaxation will be considered according to applicable government rules.
HEC will count professional experience gained after obtaining the minimum qualification required for the relevant position. Part-time work, honorary service, apprenticeships and internships completed as part of studies will not be counted.
Government employees must apply through the proper official channel. HEC will assess applications using the information provided by candidates in their online profiles, and only shortlisted applicants will be called for interviews.
Tests will be conducted at the nearest possible location for candidates. The listed test centres include Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.
HEC will not provide travel or daily allowances for tests or interviews. The commission also reserves the right to reject applications, change the number of vacancies or cancel the recruitment process without assigning a reason.
Candidates must submit their applications through the HEC careers portal by 14 October 2026. They should provide complete and accurate details about their education, experience and other required information.
The application processing fee is Rs1,000. Candidates can pay the fee through 1Link using a mobile banking application or mobile wallet by following the instructions given on the portal.
Applicants do not need to submit printed CVs or supporting documents. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered by HEC.
