The US–Israel airstrikes on Tehran escalated sharply as American and Israeli warplanes carried out heavy bombardment across the Iranian capital and other cities, deepening the ongoing Iran-Israel war and raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, Israeli fighter jets struck a major Iranian military complex in eastern Tehran and claimed to have shot down an Iranian fighter aircraft. Israeli officials also reported targeting a ballistic missile installation in Isfahan, while additional claims suggested the destruction of multiple Iranian naval vessels, including a submarine.
Israeli military sources stated that more than 5,000 tons of munitions have been dropped on Iranian targets over six consecutive days of strikes. Iranian media reported that the death toll from the ongoing bombardment has reached 1,045, underscoring the scale of the escalating conflict.
Iran Warns of Strike on Dimona Nuclear Site
In response, the Iranian military warned Israel and the United States against pursuing regime change in Tehran. In an official statement, Iran threatened to target Israel’s nuclear facility in Dimona if attempts were made to alter Iran’s political system.
Al Jazeera reported that Iran launched fresh drone and missile attacks against Israel, with missiles seen crossing Jordanian airspace toward Israeli territory. Iranian media described the strikes as the nineteenth wave of attacks targeting Israeli and US-linked installations. Loud explosions were reported in Tehran, though Iranian officials said air defense systems remain operational.

Trump Claims Iranian Leadership Eliminated
Speaking at the White House, Donald Trump said Iranian leadership had been “eliminated” in the operation. He asserted that the United States possesses the world’s most powerful military and is operating from a position of strength.
Trump added that Iranian missile platforms are being rapidly destroyed and warned that anyone seeking leadership in Iran faces fatal consequences. He further claimed that had the US not acted, Iran would have obtained a nuclear bomb.
Kurdish Ground Offensive Claims
Earlier, US officials claimed that Iraqi Kurdish fighters had launched a ground offensive into Iranian territory. An American official told US media that around 1,000 Kurdish fighters initiated operations, with thousands more allegedly crossing the border.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth previously stated that the US military is not arming rebels against Iran but acknowledged that other branches of the US government could potentially be involved.
British media alleged that the US and Israel had been arming Kurdish militias over the past year, including reported helicopter arms drops in desert areas near Najaf. However, Iranian state media denied reports of Kurdish fighters entering three border provinces from Iraq.
Expanding Middle East War
The intensifying Tehran bombing, Iranian threats against the Dimona nuclear site, and reports of cross-border operations signal a dangerous new phase in the Middle East war. With airstrikes, missile exchanges, and ground incursion claims unfolding simultaneously, regional and global tensions continue to mount.
