Fears of possible ballistic missile attacks from Iran have triggered serious concern within Israeli political circles, prompting discussions about emergency relocation plans.
According to Turkish media reports, a controversial proposal has emerged from a politician linked to the Blue and White Party. Avery Steiner has suggested purchasing around 40 uninhabited islands in Greece and converting them into secure shelters for Jewish populations.
The idea comes amid escalating tensions with Iran, where fears of ballistic missile strikes have intensified. The proposal envisions these islands acting as an “alternative Iron Dome,” providing a safe evacuation option for Israeli civilians in case of a large-scale emergency.
Reports indicate that the plan has gained traction partly because Greece had previously offered several islands for long-term lease back in 2012. This earlier offer is now being seen as a potential opportunity to implement the idea more quickly if needed.

Security analysts say that while the proposal may seem unusual, it reflects the growing anxiety over regional instability and the evolving nature of modern warfare. If implemented, the plan could mark a historic shift in how nations prepare for extreme security threats.
Experts also note that such a move would not only have strategic implications but could significantly reshape geopolitical dynamics in the region, especially as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise.
