(Web Desk): Iran launched missile strikes on Israel’s Haifa oil refinery in retaliation, causing temporary power outages and escalating regional tensions further.

Tensions in the Middle East have intensified after Iran carried out a major missile attack on an oil refinery in Haifa, following earlier strikes on its energy infrastructure, including the South Pars Gas Field.

According to international media reports, Israeli authorities confirmed that the refinery located in northern Israel was targeted by Iranian missiles, leading to a temporary disruption in electricity supply in the affected areas.

Temporary Power Outage in Northern Israel

Israel’s Energy Minister Eli Cohen stated that the missile strike caused a brief power outage in Haifa. However, he clarified that electricity was restored in most areas shortly after the incident.

Officials further reported that the damage from the attack was relatively minor and did not significantly impact critical national infrastructure.

Iran’s Retaliatory Response and Military Position

Iran has stated that the missile strike was a direct response to attacks on its energy facilities. Tehran emphasized that it is continuing retaliatory operations, including missile and drone activities across the region.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a strong warning, stating that any further attacks on Iranian infrastructure would be met with a “zero restraint” response, signaling potential further escalation.

Rising Regional Tensions and Strategic Implications

The exchange of strikes between Iran and Israel highlights growing instability in the region, particularly targeting critical energy infrastructure. Both nations appear to be engaging in a cycle of retaliation, raising concerns over broader geopolitical consequences.

Energy facilities, refineries, and gas fields have become focal points in the ongoing conflict, indicating a shift toward strategic infrastructure targeting rather than conventional battlefield engagements.

The missile strike on Haifa’s oil refinery marks a significant escalation in Iran–Israel tensions, with temporary power disruptions and warnings of further retaliation. The situation remains volatile, with both sides signaling continued responses.
