Authorities have issued a travel advisory for tourists heading to Murree and northern areas during Eid ul Fitr 2026, warning of heavy crowds, traffic congestion, and changing weather conditions.
District Police Officer Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer said around 400,000 to 500,000 tourists are expected to visit Murree during the Eid holidays, making it one of the busiest periods of the year.
Weather Forecast & Travel Conditions
Tourists are advised to check weather updates before departure as conditions are expected to shift during the holiday period:
- March 18: 9°C / 7°C – Rain likely
- March 19: 7°C / 7°C – Rain and thunderstorms expected
- March 20: 12°C / 7°C – Start of Eid holidays
- March 21: 16°C / 9°C
- March 22: 17°C / 8°C
- March 23: 19°C / 11°C
Authorities warn that rain and thunderstorms, especially on March 18 and 19, may make roads slippery and increase the risk of landslides in hilly areas, posing serious travel hazards.

Traffic and Tourist Rush
Last year’s Eid saw tens of thousands of vehicles entering Murree daily. This year, a vehicle entry limit of 8,000 has been set, which may extend to 12,000 on peak days. Despite this, severe traffic congestion and delays are expected.
