Iran warns UAE over growing ties with Israel
Iran has warned the United Arab Emirates against strengthening its relationship with Israel, as tensions in the Middle East continue to increase following recent regional developments.
According to Qatari media reports, Mohsen Rezaei, military secretary to Iran’s Supreme Leader and former chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Tehran has not closed the doors of friendship with Abu Dhabi but warned that Iran’s patience has limits.
Rezaei stated that Iran is fully aware of the growing ties between the UAE and Israel and advised the Gulf state not to become involved in what he described as Israeli conspiracies against Iran.
He also accused the United States of trying to create fear among regional countries regarding Iran. Rezaei said Tehran seeks friendly and brotherly relations with all neighboring states and stressed that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for trade but not for military aggression or instability.
The Iranian official questioned Washington’s military presence in the region, asking who the United States now considers its enemy after previously deploying naval fleets during the Cold War era.
Rezaei further rejected allegations regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions and questioned claims that Tehran intends to build nuclear weapons.
Reports suggest the UAE faced intense Iranian attacks during the recent Iran-Israel conflict, while speculation also emerged about possible Emirati responses. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the UAE of direct involvement in anti-Iran actions and urged Abu Dhabi to reconsider its regional policies.
