Iran Strikes US Sites Across Gulf, Tensions Soar
Iran has claimed to have launched major retaliatory attacks against US military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain and other regional locations, sharply escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to Iranian military statements, the attacks were carried out in response to what Tehran described as the seventh consecutive night of US strikes. Iranian officials claimed that cruise missiles targeted an American naval vessel in the northern Indian Ocean and warned that stronger responses would follow if US operations continued.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed responsibility for attacks on a US drone facility in Bahrain. Iranian media reported that ballistic missiles and drones were used against several strategic targets, including an artificial intelligence center allegedly linked to US operations.
Meanwhile, Kuwait said its air defense systems detected and intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones that entered the country’s airspace early in the morning. Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that several military facilities and army camps were targeted during the attacks.
Officials reported that a number of ground forces personnel were injured in drone strikes, but all wounded soldiers are now said to be in stable condition. Kuwait’s military also stated that a power station and a desalination plant were hit, causing a fire and damage to parts of the facility and electricity-generating units.
Jordan’s armed forces announced that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 10 Iranian missiles that entered the kingdom’s airspace. Authorities said there were no casualties or material losses.
In Bahrain, emergency air raid sirens sounded for the third time within hours, prompting authorities to urge residents to seek shelter as a precaution against further attacks.
