French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that a full ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon, is essential for restoring stability in the Middle East.
Speaking from Paris, Macron emphasized that ongoing hostilities must be halted immediately to prevent further regional escalation and humanitarian impact.
Support for Iran-US Ceasefire Agreement
Macron confirmed that he held separate discussions with the leadership of Iran and the United States, welcoming the recent Iran-US ceasefire decision as a positive development for regional peace efforts.
He described the agreement as a “best possible step” toward reducing tensions and encouraged all parties to fully implement its terms without delay.
Call for Comprehensive Peace Negotiations
The French president stressed that long-term stability can only be achieved through comprehensive diplomatic negotiations, not temporary truces.
He expressed hope that all sides would commit to maintaining the ceasefire and engaging in sustained dialogue aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.

Strait of Hormuz Stability and Regional Security
Macron also highlighted the importance of ensuring uninterrupted stability in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy corridor.
He warned that any disruptions in the region could have serious consequences for global energy markets and international security.
France Engages Regional Leaders and Condemns Airstrikes
As part of diplomatic efforts, Macron said he had also spoken with the leadership of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Iraq.
He strongly condemned Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, calling for immediate de-escalation and respect for civilian safety under international law.
France Ready to Play Diplomatic Role
Macron reaffirmed that France is ready to actively contribute to peace efforts in the Middle East, working with international partners to support stability, humanitarian protection, and conflict resolution.
