(Web Desk): PTA issues urgent alert for mobile users to update CNICs for uninterrupted services, warning expired or mismatched records may cause SIM blocking nationwide.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued an important advisory urging citizens to keep their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) updated to ensure uninterrupted mobile phone services across the country.

The authority stated that maintaining accurate identity records is essential for smooth telecom operations and reliable mobile connectivity nationwide.

Expired CNICs May Lead to SIM Blocking

According to PTA, SIM cards registered against expired CNICs or under someone else’s identity may be blocked at any time without prior notice.

Users are strongly advised to renew their expired CNICs immediately to avoid disruptions in mobile services and prevent unnecessary inconvenience.
