Speaking in the capital, Canberra, Albanese said it is now “not clear” what more can be gained from continuing the war. His remarks come as global concerns grow over the prolonged conflict.
He pointed out that recent US-Israeli attacks have already weakened Iran’s military capabilities. According to him, Iran’s air force, navy, and military industrial base have been significantly affected.
“Now those objectives have been realized, it is not clear what more needs to be achieved or what the end point looks like,” he said, highlighting uncertainty about the future direction of the war.
Albanese also stressed the need for de-escalation, urging all sides to reduce tensions and avoid further damage. He warned that a prolonged conflict could have serious consequences beyond the region.
