Pakistan is becoming the center of major diplomatic activity as high-level delegations from the United States and Iran arrive in Islamabad for key meetings.
According to reports, US Vice President JD Vance, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are expected to reach the Pakistani capital.
They are likely to participate in discussions that could help ease tensions between the two countries. Sources say several influential American figures are also accompanying the vice president.
Among them are Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who are expected to take part in possible negotiations with the Iranian delegation. Earlier, a 23 member support team from the United States had already arrived in Islamabad. The team reportedly includes security specialists and other officials who are preparing for the high-level meetings.

The development comes at a time when relations between the United States and Iran remain tense despite ongoing efforts to promote dialogue. Diplomatic sources believe Pakistan could play a mediating role in the talks.
If successful, these discussions could become an important step toward reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt had earlier announced that US President Donald Trump was sending a team to Islamabad to explore negotiations with Iran.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also informed Pakistan’s Prime Minister that Tehran will send a delegation to Pakistan for discussions. Analysts say the meetings expected in Islamabad could significantly influence the future of US-Iran relations.
They also believe the talks may affect the broader political situation across the Middle East and surrounding regions. Many observers see this development as a sign that Pakistan’s diplomatic role in international affairs may be expanding.
