The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a major relief package for bike and scooter owners in Pakistan, waiving vehicle ownership transfer fees under the Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme to reduce financial pressure caused by rising fuel prices and inflation.
The initiative aims to provide targeted assistance to middle- and low-income citizens who rely heavily on motorcycles and scooters for daily transportation. Officials stated that the fuel subsidy program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is designed to directly support deserving individuals through a transparent digital system.
Under the scheme, eligible applicants will receive a direct fuel subsidy of PKR 2000, which will be transferred through JazzCash to ensure speed, transparency, and reduced corruption risks. Authorities confirmed that applicants must have their motorcycle or scooter registered in their name and complete ownership verification to qualify.
Ownership Transfer Fee Waived
In a significant policy move, the provincial government has also completely waived the bike ownership transfer fee in Pakistan, benefiting thousands of citizens who had not yet transferred their vehicles into their own names. This step is expected to simplify documentation processes and encourage legal vehicle registration.

Easy Digital Registration via Dastak App
To streamline the process, the government has introduced the Dastak App registration system, allowing users to apply from home. Applicants must create an account, enter vehicle details, and upload their CNIC and vehicle documents, followed by biometric verification for identity confirmation.
Once verification is completed, successful applicants will receive an SMS from 8558, confirming eligibility and subsidy approval.
Economic Relief and Public Impact
Officials stated that the Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme KP is part of a broader welfare strategy aimed at reducing the burden of inflation. Experts believe that if implemented effectively, the program could help stabilize household transport costs and strengthen public trust in government relief initiatives.
