Japan's 400% visa fee hike will affect Pakistan among 100+ countries
The price hike for a single-entry fee will be from 3,000 yen to around 15,000 yen, whereas a multiple entry visa will have a price jump from 6,000 yen to 30,000 yen.
Consequently, the effect will trickle down to all Pakistani nationals that applied for a Japanese visa since Pakistan is not among Japan's 74 visa-exempt countries and territories.
Toshimitsu Motegi, the foreign minister of Japan urges the importance of the fee revision after decades of inflation, currency fluctuations, and a persistent devaluation of the Japanese yen ever since the last adjustment in 1978.
