(Web Desk): US Army Chief of Staff is abruptly removed, with General Christopher LaNeve stepping in as interim leader.

The United States military witnessed sudden developments after the Army Chief of Staff was removed from his position, creating a wave of uncertainty within defense circles.

According to Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell, the Army Chief of Staff stepped down with immediate effect. Following this unexpected move, current Vice Chief of Staff General Christopher LaNeve has been appointed as the interim chief to ensure continuity in leadership.

The Pentagon described General LaNeve as a highly experienced and dependable leader, expressing confidence in his ability to implement the current administration’s vision during this transitional period. His appointment is being seen as a stabilizing step amid concerns over leadership changes at such a critical time.

The outgoing chief, General Randy George, is widely regarded as a seasoned infantry officer. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, he has had a distinguished career spanning several decades. He played active roles in major conflicts, including the Gulf War, as well as operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

General George was nominated for the top Army position in 2023 by former President Joe Biden, and his tenure was expected to continue until 2027. However, the reasons behind his sudden removal have not been officially disclosed, raising questions and speculation among defense analysts.

Observers believe the leadership shift could have broader implications for US military strategy and internal command structure in the coming months.
