TEHRAN (Web Desk): Trump says Iran deal may be reached soon, not ruling out ground operation as regional tensions and strikes intensify.

The conflict involving Iran, Israel, and their allies has continued to escalate, with military strikes, political statements, and economic pressure adding to global concern. Recent remarks by US President Donald Trump suggest that a deal with Iran could be reached soon, although he has not ruled out the possibility of ground operations.

Israel reported that it carried out strikes on military targets across Tehran. These attacks came shortly after Trump expressed optimism about a potential agreement with Iran, saying a deal “could be soon.”

At the same time, Iran responded with fresh strikes on Israel, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. These actions followed attacks on its electrical infrastructure over the weekend, which caused power outages in parts of Tehran and surrounding areas.

The ongoing war has also affected the global economy. Fuel shortages have been reported in several parts of Asia, while stock markets remain unstable. Oil prices have surged, with US benchmark crude rising above $100 per barrel and Brent nearing $117.

The conflict has expanded beyond Iran and Israel. In southern Lebanon, fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah continues. Indonesia confirmed that one of its peacekeepers was killed after a projectile hit a United Nations position. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon has launched an investigation into the incident.

Trump also commented on leadership changes in Iran, stating that “regime change” has effectively taken place following the deaths of several Iranian leaders during the ongoing conflict. He claimed that the current leadership appears more reasonable.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “We’ve had regime change. We’re dealing with different people than anybody’s dealt with before. It’s a whole different group of people.”

He also expressed confidence in a possible agreement, saying, “I do see a deal in Iran. Could be soon.”

In earlier remarks, Trump suggested that the United States may seek control over Iran’s oil resources, including key export locations. He compared this idea to past US actions in other countries where control over energy resources played a strategic role.

Despite these diplomatic signals, the United States continues to strengthen its military presence in the region. A large amphibious assault ship carrying thousands of Marines and sailors has been deployed to the Middle East. Reports also suggest that military planners are considering ground operations, including possible raids near strategic locations. However, such actions have not yet been approved.

Iran, meanwhile, has taken steps to restrict maritime movement in the Strait of Hormuz for vessels linked to hostile nations. This waterway is crucial for global energy trade, handling a significant share of the world’s oil and gas shipments.
