Donald Trump warned Iran of devastating consequences over alleged threats while criticizing Europe, defending Greenland security, and touting US economic growth at WEF.
US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, claiming he has received repeated assassination threats and stating that any harm to him would trigger an overwhelming response. His remarks came alongside sharp criticism of Europe and a defense of US involvement in Greenland during speeches and interviews surrounding the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Addressing the global forum, Trump said the United States is the economic engine of the world, asserting that under his leadership the American economy experienced growth while inflation was brought under control. He added that although he “loves Europe,” the continent is no longer on the right path, claiming that mass migration has damaged European societies, making some areas “unrecognizable.”
Trump highlighted his administration’s focus on green energy, economic recovery, and international engagement, including assistance to Venezuela, which he said was a strong country before policy changes after 2020.

On geopolitics, Trump defended the US role in Greenland, stating that America established bases there and fought to protect the region. He argued that Greenland is vital to US national security and claimed no country could defend it better than the United States. While emphasizing that he would not use force against Greenland, Trump controversially remarked that Denmark was “just an ice block,” adding that US security interests required continued involvement in the region.
In a separate interview, Trump escalated rhetoric against Iran, alleging persistent threats to his life. He claimed to have issued clear directives to US security agencies, warning that any attack on him would lead to the complete destruction of Iran. He further criticized former President Joe Biden, saying the previous administration should have responded more forcefully when such threats first emerged.
Trump’s remarks have reignited debate over US foreign policy, global security, and diplomatic rhetoric, drawing strong reactions internationally amid already tense geopolitical conditions.
