(Web Desk): U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces have carried out airstrikes on three main nuclear sites in Iran, marking a considerable advancement in cooperation with Israel’s military campaign aimed at dismantling Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The risk of border conflict in the region has been amplified, especially since Iran had warned of retaliation if the US became directly involved.

The U.S. attacks came after over a week of Israeli operations targeting Iranian air defences, missile systems, and nuclear program components. As per American and Israeli officials, only the United States has the capabilities—specifically, stealth aircraft and specialised bunker-buster bombs—to breach Iran s well-guarded underground nuclear facilities.

“We have successfully completed our strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All aircraft are out of Iranian airspace. A full payload of bombs was dropped on Fordow, the main target. All crews are returning safely.” Said Trump on X (formerly Twitter).

Although Trump mentioned the use of B-2 stealth bombers in the mission, he did not reveal the details of the types of munitions deployed. Further information is to be released from the Pentagon and White House.

Trump took a political risk when he decided to launch the strikes as he frequently denounced military deployments overseas and ran for office on a platform of ending American engagement in international conflicts.  There are worries that the situation might turn into a larger regional conflict because Iran has repeatedly threatened to retaliate violently against any American military action.
