ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for Information Technology, acknowledged the disruption in internet services across Pakistan.
She stated that the current slowdown is due to a fault in the international submarine cable system AAE-1.
Due to the issue, the data traffic of around 1,000 gigabytes per second was disrupted, causing a significant slowdown in online connectivity across the country.
In a move to minimize the disruption, the authorities have successfully rerouted 630 gigabytes per second of data traffic to alternative pathways, with an additional 200 gigabytes per second expected to be redirected soon.
The Ministry of Information Technology assured users that efforts are ongoing to restore normal services as soon as possible while updating the public about the latest development.
