According to Downdetector, a website that monitors service interruptions, thousands of users from countries including Pakistan, the UK, and France reported various issues with the platform.
A majority of users (57%) indicated they had been unexpectedly logged out of their accounts, while others faced problems with sharing (24%) and uploading content (18%).
The disruption began early Sunday, with a sharp rise in outage reports from major Pakistani cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Karachi. The users flooded social media with a pile of complaints, with many voiced frustration over the loss of services in Punjab and Sindh.

Despite the outage’s widespread impact, Snapchat has yet to release an official explanation. Technology experts speculate the issue may stem from a server-side failure or a glitch linked to a recent update.
Some users noted that the app functioned when accessed via a Virtual Private Network (VPN), suggesting that the problem might be region-specific or related to server access limitations.
A Downdetector heat map showed extensive disruptions worldwide, confirming the outage was not isolated to a single area. The platform flags service issues when user complaints surpass normal levels, which was clearly the case here.
