Pakistan’s electric vehicle market is gaining momentum as Capital Smart Motors officially launches the JMEV EV3, a budget friendly electric car designed for everyday use.
A new affordable electric option
The EV3 is a subcompact electric hatchback built mainly for city driving. It was first displayed at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show but has now been introduced in a right hand drive version tailored for local roads. With fuel prices rising, many experts see this launch as a timely move that could push more consumers toward electric mobility.
Pricing creates strong appeal
With an introductory price starting from around Rs4.89 million, the EV3 is among the most affordable electric cars currently available in Pakistan. It sits above smaller micro EVs but offers more space and practicality, making it suitable for families as well.
Features and performance
The EV3 comes with a 30.24 kWh battery and delivers a range of about 271 km on a single charge. It produces 67 horsepower and includes modern features such as a 10.1 inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, airbags, and driver assistance systems.
In terms of size, its wheelbase is close to traditional hatchbacks like the Suzuki Alto, offering comfortable cabin space for daily use.
Competition in the EV segment
The main competitor to the EV3 is the Wuling Binguo EV, which offers similar specifications but comes at a higher price. This price difference gives the EV3 a clear edge in attracting budget conscious buyers.

Moving toward an electric future
Experts believe affordable electric cars like the EV3 can play a key role in transforming Pakistan’s auto market. With lower running costs and reduced dependence on fuel, such vehicles could drive the next phase of growth in the country’s electric vehicle sector.
