Pakistani rupee gains strength against US dollar

Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistani rupee on Wednesday gained strength against US dollar, improved by 0.03 percent in inter-bank market.

The rupee was appreciated by Rs0.08 and closed at 277.85 against US dollar.

It was settled at 277.93 against a US dollar on Tuesday, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The SBP further said that the reason behind this appreciation was fluctuation in demand and supply of the US dollar during trade.

The rupee lost 08 paise for buying and gained 03 paise for selling against US dollar, settled at 277.02 and 278.80 respectively.

In international market, the US dollar is being appreciated after Trump’s election. It is anticipated that he would reduce tariff and cut taxes.

The exchange rate of British pound decreased by Rs2.51 and closed at 354.71 and Euro lost Rs0.82 and settled at 295.44.

The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham decreased by 01 paisa closed at Rs75.96 and the Saudi Riyal traded at the same price.
