According to the documents, taxes and duties are levied at Rs101.49 per liter on petrol and Rs95.74 per liter on high-speed diesel. The levy rate on petrol is Rs75.52 per liter.
A climate levy of Rs2.50 per liter has been imposed on petrol and diesel from July 1. A freight margin of Rs6.98 per liter has been imposed on petrol. The oil companies margin on petrol is Rs7.87 and the dealers margin is Rs8.64 per liter.
For the current fortnight, the ex-refinery price of petrol is Rs165.30 per liter and the ex-refinery price of high-speed diesel is Rs177.24 per liter.
On the other hand, Rs74.51 is being collected as Petroleum Development Levy on diesel. The oil companies margin on diesel is Rs8 and the dealer margin is Rs8.64 per liter.

It should be recalled that the government had announced a major increase in the prices of petroleum products from July 1.
According to a notification issued by the government, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs8.36 per liter from July 1, while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs10.39 per liter.
According to the notification, from July 1, the price of petrol has been fixed at Rs266.79 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs272.98 per liter. The increase in the prices of petroleum products was implemented immediately.
