LAHORE (Web Desk): The Punjab government has announced a major step in Punjab satellite internet development, aiming to bring fast internet to remote and underdeveloped areas of the province.

Officials say the plan is part of a wider push for Pakistan digital development, focused on reducing the gap between urban and rural communities.

The goal is to ensure that even the most distant villages, schools, and hospitals have access to reliable internet.

Speaking at a leadership summit in Lahore, senior advisor Anusha Rehman said the government is preparing to launch satellite-based connectivity under the vision of modernizing the province.

She explained that Punjab satellite internet will help connect areas where traditional internet systems have failed or are unavailable. This is expected to improve education, healthcare services, and business opportunities in rural regions.

Experts at the event also discussed the future of digital tools such as blockchain and online financial systems. They highlighted that Pakistan digital development is growing, but still faces challenges due to limited infrastructure and lack of access in many regions.

Anusha Rehman added that people are already showing strong interest in technology, but the real challenge is providing equal access. The government believes that satellite internet Pakistan can solve this issue by reaching areas where fiber and mobile networks are weak.

Under this initiative, the IT department is working on several digital projects, while also planning to train millions of young people in digital skills over the next few years.

The introduction of satellite internet Pakistan is being seen as a key step toward building a more connected and technology-driven future.
