The platform is currently in version 0.1, and has already featured over 885,000 articles, though it still trails Wikipedia’s massive collection of over seven million English-language entries.
Musk described Grokipedia as a platform “dedicated to truth and transparency,” saying the goal of the project is “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” He also promised that an upcoming version 1.0 will be “10X better” than the current one.
Initially planned for release in late September, the launch was delayed so Musk could “purge out the propaganda.”
He posted on X that this move ensures Grokipedia delivers factual and unbiased content.
The site’s content is generated through artificial intelligence (AI), powered by xAI’s Grok assistant. A Grokipedia page on Musk highlights his influence on “technological progress and institutional debates,” while noting that he faces “criticisms from legacy media outlets that exhibit systemic left-leaning tilts in coverage.”
Musk has been a frequent critic of Wikipedia, accusing it in 2024 of being “controlled by far-left activists” and urging people to stop donating to the platform.
