PUBG, Genshin Impact, and EA Games set to shut down in 2025
(Web Desk): Several popular games and apps, including PUBG and Genshin Impact, are shutting down or losing support on older consoles in 2025 and 2026.

PUBG, the well-known battle royale game that helped popularize the genre, will no longer be supported on consoles from the previous generation later this year.

Krafton announced that on November 13, 2025, PUBG servers for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will shut down.

Performance and graphics on consoles of the current generation are intended to be enhanced by this choice.

Although there are still over 700,000 players playing PUBG every day on PCs, console users with outdated technology will no longer be able to access the game.

Customers who purchased the game prior to its release as a free game, including Battlegrounds Plus subscribers, will also receive reimbursements from Krafton.

Meanwhile, Electronic Arts is shutting down two of its games early next year: Rory McIlroy PGA Tour and The Simpsons: Tapped Out.

On January 16, 2025, the Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will be removed from internet retailers; however, offline physical copies will still remain available.

On January 24, 2025, The Simpsons: Tapped Out will no longer be available in mobile shops and will no longer be playable, even if it has previously been loaded.

Due to low usage, Microsoft is also secretly shutting down the Xbox Avatar Editor app on January 9, 2025, but recent purchasers will receive refunds.

Lastly, MiHoYo revealed that servers for PS4 gamers will shut down by April 8, 2026, and that Genshin Impact will be taken down from the PlayStation 4 shop on September 10, 2025. However, the game will still be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and mobile devices.
